Overview

Compton Acres, constructed in the 1920s, is a popular spot with tourists and locals. It was built by Thomas Simpson to reflect his overseas travels here in Britain. Whilst on holiday in Bournemouth, the Deaf Club certainly make the most of a daytrip to Compton Acres, as they work their way through each lush green garden. We see them laughing and posing for the camera and also being slightly perplexed by a hairy palm tree in the Wooded Valley.

This film is from the collection of the British Deaf Association, a member of the London's Screen Archives Network.
