Overview
Croydon-based production company Clarendon made some great, slightly surreal comedies. A short series of films starring Jack Spratt's parrot is no exception. A neighbour, disturbed by his squawking, regrets her complaints when the parrot causes chaos by playing knock down ginger while she's trying to read. To make matters worse, he then climbs the chimney flue and spreads soot all over the maid, leading the mistress of the house to accuse the sweep of "taking advantage". The bird is a natural.
