Overview

Leigh, in Lancashire, was a busy place a century ago. In this short film compilation, we see workers at Bickershaw Colliery coming off their shift, while elsewhere, unemployed men protest on the town streets. Sports fans attend the Northern Union rugby match between Leigh and Halifax at Mather Lane, while staff from the Palace Cinema parade outside for the benefit of the filmmaker and his camera.
