The Duke of Edinburgh visits the Institution of Locomotive Engineers Golden Jubilee celebrations, an exhibition of locomotives at Marylebone on 13 and 14 May 1961. On show are powerful diesel and electric locomotives, experimental prototypes and visions of the future, alongside the record-breaker for steam, Mallard, and Evening Star, the last of the line.
