Air Vice Marshall Sir Sefton Brancker prepares to take to the skies for a 14,000 mile trip to Bombay (now Mumbai) in this Topical Budget newsreel item. The Imperial Airways de Havilland DH.50 transport biplane was piloted by Alan Cobham. Brancker was killed in 1930 when the R101 airship crashed in France on its maiden voyage to India.
