Overview

In 1960 Kidderminster was the only town in the Midlands not to have a single pedestrian crossing. When Leslie Dunn visited Worcestershire for ATV's Midland Montage magazine series he discovered that the public was generally in favour of them. However, the Town Clerk, John Evans, felt very differently and claimed not to have seen any 'real trouble' in fourteen years. Consequently pedestrians had to continue to do battle with increasing levels of traffic.
