Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting Q&A for Shakespeare Lives
The stars of Franco Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet are reunited on stage for the first time since 1968 as part of the BFI and British Council’s Shakespeare on Film.
Overview
In 2016 the BFI and British Council presented Shakespeare on Film around the world as part of Shakespeare Lives. One of the most popular films in the programme was the digitally remastered, Academy Award-winning Romeo and Juliet by Franco Zeffirelli – and one of the highlights of the year was bringing together the original stars of the film for a Q&A at The American Cinematheque in Los Angeles.
Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting are interviewed by Grant Moninger of The American Cinematheque with funding from the GREAT campaign, DIT and British Council. With thanks to the actors for permission to use the interview.
A previous interview with Hussey and Whiting from the time of Romeo and Juliet's original release is available to watch here:
