Overview

Francis Newman's 1950 film starts at Otford station where a happy group of day-trippers board a train for Bexhill followed by beach scenes filled with swimming, paddling and general frivolity - with the De La Warr Pavilion in the background. Small groups ride on pedalos, overseen by a PΓ©dalo Man. We see a girl’s face in the pebbles and she is pulled from her β€˜grave’ and dusted off. After an interlude on the boating lake we see adults and kids playing leap-frog all along the beach.
