Peace returns to the garden
The War might be over but there's work to be done in the Lauste family's garden. So their son, Leslie, now back from active duty, helps his mum with the apples and the hollyhocks.

Overview
Peace returns to the garden in this film from 1945. We see Mr Lauste pulling up weeds from the garden while his wife and son, Leslie in civilian clothes, examine flowers. The day after VJ Day, we see Mrs Lauste and Leslie, now in his army uniform, walking about the garden and picking apples. October sees more apple harvesting before Leslie goes for a spin in the family car - now longer wearing black-out hoods on the headlamps.
