Whatβs the matter, cat got your tongue? This dark, sultry cartoon encounter with a feline might leave you lost for words.
Overview
A film for cat lovers? Thalma Goldman came to London from Israel in the late 1960s to study art, enrolling at the London Film School after a spell at St Martinβs. Her distinctive painting style came alive with the addition of movement, and her early films are colourful, comic, abstract expressions of life as a woman under a male gaze. Stanley was her last completed animation; a brooding, sultry encounter that remains shockingly powerful.
