Overview
Stage, film and TV favourites, the English actors Michele Dotrice, Sylvia Syms, and Gerald Flood visit a residential care home for disabled adults in Wakes Colne near Colchester in Essex. The stars, all successful in their field, chat to patients and speak to Anglia TV about their involvement with the charity S.O.S. – 'Stars Organisation for Spastics' and the difference it can make to centres such as the ones they visit.
Michele Dotrice (b. 1948) is best known for playing Betty Spencer alongside Michael Crawford as Frank Spencer in the BBC sitcom 'Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em', which ran from 1973 to 1978. Sylvia Syms (b.1934) is known for her roles in the films 'Woman in a Dressing Gown' (1957), 'Ice Cold in Alex' (1958) and 'Victim' (1961). Gerald Flood (b. 1927 d.1989) was an actor of stage and television. In the 1960s he appeared in a science fiction series called 'Pathfinders in Space' (1960), and its sequels 'Pathfinders to Mars' (1960-1961) and 'Pathfinders to Venus' (1961).
