Overview

This charming inter-war travelogue of Pennine Britain traces the course of the Cumbrian river Eden while placing it in its historical setting. From the myth-shrouded ruins of Pendragon Castle, via the Bronze Age stone circle Long Meg and her daughters, to the "border fortress town" of Carlisle, the film, though very much of its era, also reveals the unspoiled, timeless beauty of this rural area.
