Trip to Wembley
Fans celebrate as Hull FC take home the Rugby Challenge Cup trophy after the rematch declares their victory.

Overview
Anticipation builds as dedicated Hull FC supporters stand excitedly outside Wembley Stadium for the Rugby Challenge Cup Final of 1982. The film then cuts to their victorious homecoming after the rematch at Leeds, with roaring crowds waving flags to proudly welcome their team as they parade through a sea of black and white Hull FC colours.
Hull FC vs. Widnes in 1982 was a nail-biting Challenge Cup final. Starting with a lead from Widnes at 14-6, Hull miraculously turned the game around in the last 13 minutes. Finishing at a draw, a match replay was issued β the first one in 28 years. Oddly, the rematch was instead held at Elland Road in Leeds following a timetable clash with Pope John Paul IIβs visit. Hull FC, who had not won since 1914, had been close to touching victory in five previous finals; three of which were at Wembley but 1982 was finally their golden year.
