        Overview

The Home Of Rest For Horses moved to Cricklewood in 1908, where it continued the work started by founder Ann Lindo of providing a place for London’s working horses to get a rest from their back-breaking activities. This film shows some of the residents in 1926, including Roger, who was found riderless at the Somme and now pulls on a rope with his teeth to ring a bell and attract attention; Nobby, who is recovering from a nervous breakdown; and war veterans Punch and Sunny Jim.
