Overview
This informative workplace documentary explores Wilf Hutchinson’s expertise in the production of handmade oak furniture in his workshop in Kilburn. We are initially introduced to Hutchinson’s intricate work by detailed shots of his oak furniture. Hutchinson is then interviewed on his life as a master woodworker and the inspiration that he received from his mentor Robert Thompson.
Robert Thompson was one of the most notable 20th Century furniture makers in Britain. His company is still located in Kilburn today and continues to produce premium oak furniture. Thompson’s company have also opened a visitor’s centre for people to explore the company’s heritage.
