Yeovil and Chard - Street Scenes
Madcap home movie road trip around south west England - speeding through rural Somerset and Dorset up to Bristol.
Overview
A madcap home movie road trip around south west England, speeding from rural Somerset and Dorset up to Bristol. Shot out of the side of an open-top car as it clatters along, it’s an exciting - if bewildering - personal record of a journey from countryside, to coast, to city. We’re not certain that either Yeovil or Chard feature, but there are fly-by visits to Beaminster and Crewkerne.
The film's clearly the work of an amateur - such shaky camera work surely can't be blamed on 1930s potholes! So it's a bit of a mystery why it was shot on 35mm film stock. With 'small gauge' home movie cameras already much more affordably available on the market, why would someone choose this more cumbersome and expensive format?
