Overview
Colour footage of an expedition team in Mato Grosso, Brazil preparing to go on expedition. The footage begins with shots of street life in Mato Grosso before we meet the expedition members. The team meets at the Grand Hotel de Mato Grosso before dividing to talk to local people to gather information, secure food supplies and find muleteers to assist with their journey.
This educational documentary obviously places great importance on the knowledge and assistance given by people local to the region being travelled in. The main characters spend much of the time in conversation with local people talking about route, the locally grown food that would be preferable to take and securing appropriate transportation.
