Overview
A mixture of b/w & colour film (captioned, without sound) taking viewers around the world in1937. Includes Peking, with crowds watching a dragon procession to celebrate the coronation of King George VI. Scenes in Ceylon (Colombo & Kandy), plus a visit to the pyramids. The latter scenes show famous London landmarks, footage of a Northolt Race Meeting and the Aldershot Tattoo.
Frances de Horsey (nΓ©e Hotham) was a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society between 1938 and 1965. She was a lecturer and traveller; she died in 1975. Her film βNine Countries in Ninety Minutesβ includes visits (some fleeting) to Peking (now Beijing), China, the Malay States, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), Bombay (now Mumbai), Aden, Egypt, Marseilles, Gibraltar and England.
