Computer Doctor
Reporter Michèle Brown visits London's Western Hospital, where a computer is on the medical staff to help doctors with routine doctor\patient consultations.
Overview
A computerised doctor is showcased as evidence of Britain's position at the helm of cutting-edge technological advancement, in this episode of This Week in Britain.
In the postwar period, cinemagazines (magazine-style programmes that dealt with more light-hearted news items) such as this were produced exclusively for overseas audiences, increasingly drawing on science and technology stories to project a positive image of Britain to the rest of the world. This government film is a public record, preserved and presented by the BFI National Archive on behalf of The National Archives, home to more than 1,000 years of British history.
