A Holiday on the Isle of Wight
Join the Thomspon family on their Isle of Wight holiday in this delightfully nostalgic film from 1950
From the collection of:
Overview
Starting with a tableaux of garden gnomes our film moves to Ryde Esplanade where the Thompson family are enjoying their holiday. After some golf and an ice-cream, we see a mass exercise event at the Ryde Pavilion. Travelling by train all over the island, we see various station names and steam trains. At Cowes we see a yachting regatta and the Lymington ferry at Yarmouth. In the quiet village of Godshill, dainty cottages and the church tower are seen before we end at Freshwater
