Overview

The Manchester and Salford Boys' and Girls' Refuges and Homes provided care and support to children in need, and this promotional film shows us some of their work in the interwar years. From disabled and orphaned children to the lads' summer camp at Birkdale, the organisation assisted young people until adulthood, and here we see an 'old boy' saying goodbye as he leaves to begin a new life.

In 2005, the charity was renamed The Together Trust and now provides special education, residential care, community support and fostering to young people and adults with learning difficulties, physical disabilities and complex needs.
