Dolgellau Carnival
Tommy Hughes – ‘Tommy the Fruit’ – proprietor of the grocer’s shop in the centre of Dolgellau, films the town’s summer carnival.

Overview
After an over-exposed start the picture quality soon improves as the carnival procession moves along Penbrynglas, on the council estate, and across the bridge into Arran Road. Rose Queen Bronwen, and Britannia with her trident, are borne aloft on floats, as is Queen Eirlys. An ex-Queen [?], in pink, perches on the back of a red sports car. A band of unsmiling military drummers, plus army jeeps and a machine gun, strike an odd note on a fun day.
