Thames beyond Control
The Thames Valley floods - local residents put on their wellies and a stiff upper lip while the news media descends...
Overview
The periodic flooding of the Thames Valley, and the obvious misery it causes local residents, is a beacon call for news media, on the hunt for dramatic shots of nature biting back at manmade landmarks. Though distressing for those involved, the 1925 incident was not one of the worst. Perhaps Topical Budget's titlecard writer, who brands the authorities "hopeless", maybe lived in the area?
