Chorley Coronation Processions (1911)
The Lancashire cotton town brings out the bunting for George V's big day.
Overview
The coronation of George V on Thursday 22nd June 1911 was a day of mass celebration throughout Britain, with towns and cities vying to demonstrate their patriotic fervour, as Chorley in Lancashire does in style in this film. It was shown at Chorleyβs recently-opened picture house, the New Empire Electric Theatre, known from 1960 as Chorley Little Theatre and owned by an amateur dramatics group.
