Speak Like a Child
Moving drama about three close friends forever tied to a dark secret from their teenage past.
Director: John Akomfrah
Overview
Three teenagers forge a firm friendship while living in a children's home on the remote Northumbrian coast. Linked by a mutual sexual bond, they are involved in a terrible, life-changing incident that forever ties them together. Based on some of writer Danny Padmore's childhood experiences, Speak Like a Child is a disturbing tale of love, friendship and survival.
The brusque beauty of the Northumbria coastline provides a stunning backdrop for this powerful tale, directed by John Akomfrah
