Textile Workers Leaving a Factory (c.1901)
An assortment of Edwardian workers, including many mischievous children who are far from camera-shy.
Overview
It's a shame that the location hasn't been identified, as there's more variety here than in many of Mitchell and Kenyon's 'factory gate' films. It was clearly a cold day: women are wrapped in thick shawls and many men sport scarves. Two huge horse-drawn carts pass at one point, and the fascinated children who stop to scrutinise or mock the camera soon almost outnumber the adults.
