Overview

Whilst on holiday at Butlin’s Barry Island holiday camp, Ken Shaw, a train enthusiast, visits the nearby Woodham Brothers Scrapyard with his camera and his family. As they wander around the grassy rails where wildflowers are blooming, Ken records the impassioned pleas inscribed on the scrapped engines: “Help”, “Save me”, “I need a home”. Other messages are warnings e.g. “Do not take parts!!”. A hopeless case, perhaps, bears sympathy: “Rest in Peace”.
