Totnes Course for Dog Trainers
How to train your dog
From the collection of:
Overview
Owners take to the field with their dogs to receive practical guidance on effective training as well as tips in understanding canine behaviour. Training dogs for herding purposes dates back to Roman times, these early techniques are now universally recognised. Dogs may be trained to perform tasks for owners including hunting, herding, assisting the military, police and border and security personnel and aiding persons with disabilities such as guide or hearing dogs.
Barbara Woodhouse became a household name and an international celebrity with her no nonsense 1980 television series Training Dogs the Woodhouse Way with Sit! and Walkies! becoming her catchphrases as much for their tone as their pitch. Dogs are the oldest domesticated animals and have become attuned to human behaviour. Dogs have earned the title of a manβs best friend.
