Overview

Five venture to Pembrokeshire – two women, one man and two dogs – and enjoy a sunny holiday – and picnics - visiting Tenby, Pembroke Castle, St David’s Cathedral, Manorbier Castle (tanks are seen being driven on the nearby Castlemartin military range) and St Govan’s tiny chapel. The sea, the wide sandy beaches and attractive rocks and cliffs clearly illustrate why Pembrokeshire is such a popular destination for visitors.

This footage was donated to The National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales by someone who had acquired it at auction and nothing is known about those featured. Home movies without any accompanying documentation, or any connected family members from whom information can be gleaned, have always the element of ‘lost souls’ about them. Who are the people appearing before the camera? Did they have particular links with Wales? Might someone viewing this on the BFI Player know who they are?
