Mexico: To Inspire Confidence in the People

Wonderfully clear newsreel pictures of a parade through Mexico City during the Mexican Revolution.

Non-Fiction 1914 1 mins Silent

Overview

This wonderfully clear shot of Mexico City offers a rare glimpse of the country in the heat of Revolution. General Huerta's short-lived presidency had come about by controversial means, largely due to the might of his Federales. The film's title card bills Huerta's troops and marching band as "inspiring confidence" in the people, rather than supressing it - clearly supporting the status quo.
