Overview

This florid Iberian romance centres on the daring exploits of Ramon as he takes on a group of bandits to win the admiration of true love Pepita, and escape his stultifying arranged marriage.

Featuring the stunning photography of Claude Friese-Greene, Norman Walker’s film was initially released as a silent film with Pathecolor sequences in May 1929. While this version is now believed to be lost, the film is presented here in its 1931 reissue version minus the stencil colouring but accompanied by a full-length medley of Spanish music conducted by John Reynders.
