Decasia
Decasia is an artful collage of found archival footage, shot pre-1950 on a cellulose nitrate base and most of it in advanced stages of decay.
Director: Bill Morrison
Overview
Decsia is made entirely of decaying nitrate-based found footage which seems to melt, burn, drip and deteriorate before our very eyes. Bill Morrison deliberately chooses of images that push back against their own disintegration, resulting in this haunting tapestry of long lost, partially erased images that testify not only to the fragile nature of film but to the transience of all human endeavour.
