Donkey Punch
Nichola Burley and Jamie Winstone star in the yacht-set shocker, in which a teen sex party turns into a deadly fight for survival.
Director: Olly Blackburn
Overview
Oliver Blackburnβs yacht-set shocker is one of the most expertly executed gore-fests in 21st-century British cinema. When three hard-partying girls on a Majorcan holiday are invited back to a yacht party by four wealthy young men, a weekend of unbridled hedonism looks in order. But a tragic event pits the sexes against each other in a deadly fight for survival.
Blackburn and co-writer David Bloomβs clever script alludes to the political dimension inherent in its class and gender conflicts, while at the same time ensuring it retains a playful sense of its exploitation pedigree. As director, Blackburn handles scenes of both nubile eroticism and savage gore with equal aplomb, drenching the action in a sun-bleached look that belies the unfurling bloody mayhem.
