Overview

Narcoleptic hustler Mike (Phoenix) and his friend Scott (Reeves), who’s secretly from a wealthy family, ditch the streets of Portland and hit the road, heading for Mike’s home town of Idaho. Focusing on characters living on the fringes of American society, and avant-garde in its style (partly inspired by William Burroughs’ cut-up technique), My Own Private Idaho is considered a landmark in New Queer Cinema.
