Overview

One of Chaplin’s most ingenious shorts sees him as a drunken man trying to enter his apartment and navigate a series of pesky inanimate objects.

The first film in which he starred alone (although there is a brief appearance of Albert Austin as a cab driver), One A.M. is a stunning showcase for his dextrous comic talents. Reminiscent of the contemporaneous works of Buster Keaton, the films is also notable for its extensive use of moving camerawork.
