The 39 Steps
Sublime and suspenseful version of the popular John Buchan spy thriller from the master of suspense himself, Alfred Hitchcock.
Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Overview
Alfred Hitchcock’s sublime, suspenseful and sometimes risqué adaptation of the popular John Buchan spy thriller. When a woman is murdered in his flat by foreign agents, Richard Hannay (Robert Donat at his debonair best) goes on the run, pursued by both police and villains alike, in an attempt to clear his name – not that easy while handcuffed to a troublesome companion (the exquisite Madeleine Carroll). One of Hitch’s finest British films.
