The Seventh Day

Man about town Daniel Farson grills the Lord's Day Observance Society on their beliefs about appropriate Sunday activities.

1957 14 mins Silent

Director: Geoffrey Hughes

Overview

Broadcaster and bon vivant Daniel Farson seems appalled that certain activities, such as going to the theatre and attending professional sporting events, are restricted by the Sunday Observance Acts. He sets out to get answers from the influential Lord's Day Observance Society and to ask people in the street what they think.

Out of Step was a 1957 Rediffusion series for ITV looking at alternative lifestyles and unconventional opinions. Other editions feature Farson meeting groups including nudists, Scientologists and modern witches.
