Zodiac
David Fincher's brilliant, labyrinthine procedural thriller detailing the most infamous unsolved serial killings in American history.
Director: David Fincher
Overview
A serial killer with seemingly random targets sends terrifying threats and cryptic codes to police and publishers all around San Francisco throughout the 60βs and 70βs, gripping the city with fear and paranoia. Robert Graysmith (Jake Gyllenhaal), a young cartoonist with a penchant for puzzles becomes obsessed with the murder cases and enlists the help of Paul Avery (Robert Downey Jr) as they attempt to identify the infamous Zodiac Killer.
With a cast packed with Hollywood heavyweights, including Mark Ruffalo as the jaded long serving Inspector David Toschi, David Fincher followed on from the territory explored in his breakthrough detective film, Se7en, with this chilling true crime story presented with characteristically forensic attention to period detail.
