Overview
Anna seems to have it all. A successful, respected lawyer and advocate, her life seems perfect, but when her stepson ThΓ©o rejoins the family, it is time for a darker reality to emerge. Catherine Breillat's new film has plenty of her trademark provocations (see Romance or Anatomy of Hell for precedent) but it works thanks to LΓ©a Drucker's committed and nuanced performance as Anna. She gives her complex, shocking character just enough likeability, a highly controlled portrait of a woman in freefall.
