A short documentary for the 'Bygones' series, Anglia Television document the modernisations to the Great Eastern rail route, including electrification, a replacement to the great Trowse Swing Bridge at Norwich Thorpe – not an easy task, and a sophisticated control room at Colchester replacing many of the manually operated signal boxes. There are many hands and expert machinery on the job to improve rail services in East Anglia.
