Overview
This impressionistic film starts with low tide on the River Adur. As kayaks and dinghies progress upstream, larger ships and fishing vessels, along with yachts of various sizes, pass through the lock system into Shoreham Harbour. The last remaining chimney from the Brighton B power stations can still be seen. We then see various buildings around Shoreham including the churches of St Mary de Haura and St Nicolas. We end at Shoreham Airport where an air display is in progress.
The Albany Cine Club, formerly called the Albany Productions Film Unit, was based in Southwick, West Sussex, and was active between 1951 and 1995. Chairmen included Sid Mitchell and Eddie Ovenden, who donated over 50 films to Screen Archive South East. These films represent five decades of collaborative practice and effort by the club's many members.
