The punks go shopping in this evocatively dingy entry in Captain Zip's seminal Video Trip.
Overview
An evocatively dingy entry in Captain Zip's Video Trip, a series of 8mm films documenting the London punk scene. Captain Zip (aka Phil Munnoch) first invites the gang to his Portobello Road squat - the Zip Cave - where fun with a tube of toothpaste ensues. Then to Alaska Studios in Waterloo where punk band The Dispozest are rehearsing, and punk shop Smutz in Beaufort Market on the King's Road.
Police get involved when the punks march on Seditionaries, Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren's legendary shop at 430 King's Road. Look out for the elephant!
