Royal Welsh Agricultural Society's Show - Llandrindod Wells (Llanelwedd, nr. Builth Wells, Breconshire) - part I
The show is inaugurated in Llandrindod by various VIPs and a group of Africans are welcomed to this 3-day celebration of rural life in Wales.

Overview
Reginald G Iles, a founder member of The South Wales and Monmouthshire Agricultural and Horse Shows Association, records the 1951 royal show on film, commencing with the VIP inauguration with African visitors. The best of cattle, horse and sheep breeds are awarded trophies and boys demonstrate keep-fit exercises.
The title on this film is a little confusing! The Royal Welsh Show, as the National Eisteddfod still does, changed location each year after being based in Aberystwyth from its commencement in 1904 until 1910. It was held in Llandrindod in 1951 but from 1963 onwards it has had a permanent home in Llanelwedd, Builth Wells.
