        Overview

        On the day before The Benson & Hedges Cup Final match between Essex and Surrey, in July 1979, Anglia Television take a look at Essex’ chances of taking home the trophy, in particular, focussing on the professional career of Stuart Turner, whose fellow team players describe as β€œspectacular in the field”.

        In the semi-final Essex beat Yorkshire, playing at their County Ground in Chelmsford, winning by 3 wickets and making it to the final. On 21st July 1979 at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, the Benson & Hedges Cup final took place between Essex and Surrey. Essex won by 35 runs, and Player of the match was Graham Gooch. The umpires were Dickie Bird & Barrie Meyer.
