Overview

Fast-paced and thrilling, this marvellously moody, monochromatic account of the Titanic’s disastrous maiden voyage makes for riveting viewing. Adapted from Walter Lord’s highly regarded novel, Eric Ambler’s stirring screenplay tempers stiff upper lip with sensitivity and suffering as an unexpected iceberg spectacularly upends a supposedly unsinkable ocean liner and with it the grand plans of man.

An added air of authenticity was lent to this moving account of the disaster thanks to the assistance of survivor Joseph Boxhall (Fourth Officer on the Titanic) and ex-Cunard Commodore Harry Grattidge, both of whom acted as technical advisors to the production.
