A Portrait of Eden U rating

A week in the life of 22-year-old Eden Kötting, who has Joubert's Syndrome. A moving, tender film by Gideon Koppel (Sleep Furiously).

Documentary 2011 22 mins

Director: Gideon Koppel

Overview

As a 7 year old, Eden Kötting, who has the rare congenital brain disorder Joubert's Syndrome, toured Britain's coastlines with her director father Andrew in 1996's acclaimed Gallivant. Now 22, she has defied doctor's expectations that she wouldn't survive to adulthood, but needs constant care. But her love of life - and her family's love for her - shine through in this elegant, touching film.

Filmed over a week in October 2010, Portrait of Eden was originally commissioned by the Hastings-based Project Art Works with the objective of providing a rounded assessment of Eden's adult care needs.
