Live Flesh
Pedro Almodóvar’s sexy and suspenseful thriller follows the intertwining destinies of a cop (Javier Bardem) and the criminal who paralyses him.
Director: Pedro Almodóvar
Overview
Pedro Almodóvar’s sexy and suspenseful adaptation of Ruth Rendell’s crime novel follows the intertwining destinies of the cop and the criminal whose bullet paralyses him.
Long before their Hollywood careers, Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz ooze star charisma, ably supported by Francesca Neri and Liberto Rabal. Nominated for a Bafta in 1997, Live Flesh can now be seen as the career juncture between Almodóvar’s wild early thrillers and the more controlled style of his run of internationally acclaimed melodramas that began with All About My Mother in 1999.
