Director: Arthur Maude

Overview

This powerful WWI drama, inspired by the famous John McCrae poem In Flanders Fields, sees rivals in love become comrades-in-arms in the bloodstained trenches of the Western Front. Sapper (creator of Bulldog Drummond) used the poem for inspiration in his story of a lonely, drunken ex-Guardsman finding a reason to live again through the love of a good woman. But she has eyes for another and fate finally draws them together on the battlefields of Flanders. A heartrending fusion of love and war.
