Young and Innocent
In Hitchcock's early thriller, the witness to a murder is accused of the crime, evading arrest to track the real killer.
Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Overview
The director' personal favourite of all his British output, Young and Innocent has a compelling story complemented by technical excellence. The final tracking shot across a crowded ballroom is justly applauded, but the journey before it merits your attention. Ingenuity keeps the chase plot bubbling, with conjurers, constables and vagrants thrown in. Derrick De Marney and Nova Pilbeam delight, with the latter declaring it, "Quite the sunniest film I was involved with."
