Overview

Opening with a poem, this film shows Woking's transition from peace to war. An aircraft flying overhead sends two girls dashing into the family air raid shelter while Home Guard volunteers drill with wooden weapons. Then it's the real thing as we visit a rifle range to see a crack-shot in action. Prizes are awarded to the winners of various Home Guard competitions and a General comes to inspect the men. The film ends with a final salute and parade through the streets of Woking.
